Jio Financial Services has launched the JioFinance app in Paris to help Indian travelers make digital payments abroad. With the JioFinance app, users can now buy tickets for the Eiffel Tower and shop at Galeries Lafayette, a famous Paris department store.
The app is also featured at India House in Paris, a special place created by Reliance Foundation and the Indian Olympic Association to showcase Indian culture and support Indian athletes and visitors. Inside India House, JioFinance offers a unique experience center for users.
Visa, the official payments partner for the Paris 2024 Olympics, has teamed up with JioFinance for this venture. The app provides features like instant UPI payments, digital bank accounts, wallet services, bill payments, recharges, rewards, insurance, and a consolidated view of all bank accounts.
Recently, JioFinance received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to transition from a non-banking financial company (NBFC) to a core investment company (CIC). This new status allows JioFinance to focus on acquiring shares and securities and to invest heavily in its group companies.
