The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), revealing that 56 candidates achieved a perfect score of 100 percentile. The NTA has announced that scores for Paper 2A (B.Arch.) and 2B (B.Planning) will be issued separately for the JEE (Main) – 2024 Session 1.
Among the top scorers, 15 are from Telangana, seven each from Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, and six from Delhi. In Delhi, Shayna Sinha, Madhav Bansal, Tanay Jha, Ipsit Mittal, Bhavesh Ramakrishnan Karthik, and Arsh Gupta are among the six who achieved the 100 percentile.
Out of 11,79,569 registered candidates, 10,67,959 appeared for the exam, with 3,29,600 female candidates, 7,38,351 male candidates, and 8 candidates from the third gender. In the disability category, 3,779 candidates registered, of which 3,369 appeared, with 744 male and 2,625 female candidates.
The Ministry of Education, Government of India, entrusted the NTA with the responsibility of conducting the JEE Main from 2019 onwards. For the Academic Session 2024-25, the NTA conducted the JEE (Main) – 2024 in two sessions, Session 1 (January 2024) and Session 2 (April 2024), in 13 languages.
Session 2 of the JEE (Main) 2024 was conducted at 571 examination centres in 319 cities, including 22 cities outside India. Session 1 was conducted in about 544 centres in 291 cities, including 21 cities outside India.
Strict action, including three-year debarment, has been initiated against 39 candidates for using unfair means (UFM). The examination was conducted following the norms and procedures for high-stakes examinations, ensuring a fair and equal opportunity for all candidates.
The JEE Main examination is crucial for students aiming to pursue undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture in top institutions in India, such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs).
