The biggest Hindi-language film ever made in India, Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, has surpassed the superstar’s own Pathaan on its seventeenth day of release. Jawan made an estimated Rs 13 crore on its third Saturday, bringing its nett domestic earnings to Rs 546 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This surpasses Pathaan’s total lifetime earnings of Rs 543 by Rs 3 crore.

Jawan made a history-making debut earlier this month. The film achieved the highest opening day gross in Hindi film history (Rs. 75 crore), the highest single-day haul (Rs. 80 crore on its first Sunday), and the highest opening week gross (Rs. 389 crore). Additionally, it set records for the fastest Hindi film to reach the milestones of Rs 100 crore, Rs 200 crore, Rs 300 crore, Rs 400 crore, and Rs 500 crore. The Hindi-language version of Jawan saw a 23% overall India occupancy on day 17 after release. Even though there were very few shows in the dubbed versions, the Tamil and Telugu versions scored 35% and 21%, respectively. Jawan, a pan-Indian film directed by Atlee and starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, was created with this purpose.

After taking an almost five-year hiatus, the actor made a huge comeback earlier this year with Pathaan. Pathaan finished its run with over Rs 1000 crore in international revenue, and as of Friday, Jawan had earned Rs 957 crore. The film is anticipated to surpass Pathaan at the global box office today and pass Aamir Khan’s Dangal to become the second-biggest Bollywood release of all time.
