Rifle, fur hat, drones: Kim Jong Un returns back with gifts from Russia

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set to return home on Monday, most likely with presents from his Russian hosts that include a weapon, a cosmonaut’s glove, and military drones – all of which are in breach of UN sanctions.

The following are some of the artifacts he is returning to the “friendship” museum, which houses presents received by the North’s three generations of leaders.

Kim received a Russian-made weapon “of the highest quality” following his meeting with Russian President Putin, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Kim responded with a gun “made by North Korean craftsmen” for Putin.

According to Russia’s TASS news agency, Putin also delivered a glove from a spacesuit worn in space.

The governor of the Primorsky area, Oleg Kozhemyako, presented Kim with a set of new, lightweight body armour built for assault operations that covers the chest, shoulders, throat, and crotch, according to Russian media.

Kim was reportedly given five one-way assault drones and a Geranium-25 reconnaissance drone, both of which are commonly utilized in Ukraine’s conflict, according to TASS.

That contradicts at least two UN Security Council resolutions imposed on the North for its prohibited missile and nuclear programs, both of which Moscow voted to approve.
