Pakistan: 40 per cent population remains illiterate

According to the Economic Survey 2022-23, a huge percentage of individuals in Pakistan are still uneducated; only 59.3 percent of the country’s population has access to education.

According to the Economic Survey 2022-23, the total education spending by the federal and provincial governments in fiscal year 2022 was anticipated to be 1.7 percent of GDP.
According to the federal secretary, literacy rates in all provinces have increased, with Punjab increasing from 66.1 percent to 66.3 percent; Sindh increasing from 61.1 percent to 61.8 percent; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa increasing from 52.4 percent to 55.1 percent; and Balochistan increasing from 53.9 percent to 54.5 percent.
