A jail-themed restaurant, “Kaidi Kitchen,” in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand is gaining attention for its unique context and delicacies.
The restaurant claims that eating inside a prison will be a unique experience for its patrons. The interiors feature sitting areas reminiscent of jail cells and waiters decked out in prison garb. As the visitors are served, there is even a pretend jailer holding handcuffs.
The images, which have been shared online, show prisoners eating in their cells.
As soon as the images appeared on social media, comments about this “unique experience” poured in. While some people found the idea “intriguing,” others thought it was “absurd” and thought the term “theme-based” had been overused.
“Do I need to commit a crime to reserve a table?” A user joked.
“What’s next? “A hospital-themed restaurant?” asked another.
Though some residents may find the concept novel, others have quickly pointed out that such eateries already exist in large cities like Delhi and Kolkata, so there is nothing novel about the concept.
