BSF retaliates: Two Pakistani Rangers killed in response

Tensions flared along the International Border as the Border Security Force (BSF) retaliated with precision, resulting in the death of two Pakistani Rangers in the Sabz Peer Sector. The swift response followed an unprovoked firing incident initiated by Pakistan Rangers in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu and Kashmir, claiming the life of a valiant BSF jawan. The exchange of gunfire erupted in the late hours of November 8-9, prompting a befitting reply from the BSF in the Ramgarh and Arnia sectors in Samba district.

The BSF confirmed in a statement that its personnel in the Ramgarh sector responded resolutely to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers, emphasizing that “one BSF personnel succumbed to injuries received in the unprovoked firing.” The brave soul, identified as 28-year-old HC/GD Lal Fam Kima of 148 Bn, sustained bullet injuries and was immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre Ramgarh for treatment. Despite receiving first aid and subsequent transfer to a Military hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Locals in the area reported a heavy exchange of fire between BSF troopers and Pakistan Rangers around 2-2.30 AM, causing panic among residents who sought shelter indoors. The incident marks a significant escalation, with locals noting that such firing had not occurred in the region for the past 4-5 years.

The BSF, acknowledging the sacrifice of HC/GD Lal Fam Kima, expressed solidarity, stating, “Director General & all ranks of Border Security Force salute the supreme sacrifice… Prahari Parivar stands by his family in this trying time.”

In a parallel development, security forces neutralized a terrorist affiliated with the proscribed terror outfit, The Resistance Front (TRF), in the Kathohalan area of Shopian. The Kashmir Zone Police reported the recovery of incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition, from the terrorist’s possession. The situation remains tense along the International Border, underscoring the need for heightened vigilance in the region.
