Jammu, April 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has sent an urgent letter to Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, Government of India, calling for immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian students studying in Iran and Israel amidst escalating tensions between the two countries.

In the letter, a spokesman for JKSA expressed deep concern over the fears and stress faced by Indian students due to the recent escalation of tensions between Iran and Israel. The spokesman highlighted the need for proactive measures to safeguard the students’ security amid the looming threat of military escalation.

JKSA urged the Ministry of External Affairs to establish direct lines of communication with the Indian embassies in Iran and Israel to provide real-time updates and guidance to the students. The association emphasized the importance of sharing clear and concise information about safety protocols, evacuation procedures, and emergency contacts without delay.

Additionally, JKSA called for close collaboration between the Ministry, respective host governments, diplomatic missions, and international organizations to facilitate the safe passage of Indian students out of harm’s way, if necessary. The association stressed the urgency of formulating evacuation plans and ensuring their immediate implementation should the situation worsen.
