Argentina secured their record 16th Copa America championship with a 1-0 victory over Colombia in the final, surpassing Uruguay’s previous record of 15 titles.

Despite Colombia’s loss in the final, James Rodriguez had a standout tournament, setting a new record with six assists overall. His crucial sixth assist came in the semifinal against Uruguay, where his precise cross led to Jefferson Lerma’s decisive goal. This achievement surpassed Lionel Messi’s five-assist record in a single Copa America campaign, achieved during Argentina‘s 2021 triumph.
