Amazon Studios is preparing for an exciting follow-up to its popular film ‘Road House,’ bringing back actor Jake Gyllenhaal to reprise his role as the formidable Dalton.
Variety reported that Amazon MGM Studio chief Jennifer Salke disclosed the news during the company’s first upfront presentation to advertisers, which took place at New York City’s Pier 36 venue.
“While Amazon is keeping quiet on any other details for now, it still made sure to give the news of the high-profile project it’s due,” Salke announced enthusiastically.
Penned by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry and produced by Joel Silver, the original ‘Road House’ enthralled global audiences. Alongside Gyllenhaal, the film boasted an impressive ensemble cast, including Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen, Jessica Williams, Joaquim de Almeida, Conor McGregor, and Lukas Gage. According to Variety, Amazon MGM Studios revealed that the inaugural ‘Road House’ installment has amassed nearly 80 million viewers worldwide thus far.
