Kirodi Lal Meena accuses Congress of provoking Muslims over Waqf Board dispute

Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena targeted the Congress high command and other leaders on the dispute related to the Muslim Waqf Board during a press conference at the BJP state office on Monday. He alleged that many Congress leaders including Gehlot are working to provoke the Muslim community. Meena clarified that the property of the Waqf Board is not anyone’s personal property, but Fazal ur Rahim, associated with the All India Muslim Personal Board, has created a mini Pakistan by illegally selling government, temple land and pastures to a particular community in the name of Waqf. Apart from this, Meena also said that leaders like Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Salman Khurshid are trying to incite Muslims against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a big conspiracy is being hatched against the central government.
Meena claimed that Fazal ur Rahim has established over a dozen illegal colonies on temple land, including Kaman Nagar, Ashraf Colony, Jamia Nagar, Kabir Nagar, Ibadat Nagar, Madina Nagar, Hidayat Nagar, Kalam Nagar, Rangrez City, MK Vihar, Diamond Nagar, and Star City.
He alleged that 40 mosques and 30 illegal slaughterhouses are operating within these colonies. According to Meena, Fazal has effectively created a “new Pakistan” in the Sadwa Mode area of Jaipur, promoting anti-national activities by bringing in individuals from a specific religion to Sadwa, Jaisinghpura Khor, and Amer.
Meena further alleged that Fazal and Zia-ur-Rahim sold 18 to 20 bighas of land belonging to the Jamia Hidayat Trust in Jaipur and the Maulana Abdul Rahim Educational Trust in Jaipur and Ahmedabad for crores of rupees through a fraudulent agreement in 2005. They allegedly built illegal colonies for a specific community on this land and made millions by selling tribal land in Mumbai.
Meena accused Fazal of creating the Maulana Abdul Rahim Educational Trust and Musa Foundation Trust, conducting financial transactions worth crores in their bank accounts, which he claimed is a violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
Meena added that a particular community is being benefitted by occupying the temple lands, while money is being taken from foreign powers in the name of the trust. He said that valuable lands have been sold illegally in the name of Waqf. Citing the JPC report in 2008, Meena said that the central government has decided to bring the Waqf Amendment Bill so that transparency can be brought in the Waqf Board.
He said that the Modi government is bringing the Waqf Amendment Act 2024 on this issue, due to which many Congress leaders, such as Mallikarjun Kharge, Ashok Gehlot and Salman Khurshid, are disturbed and are trying to incite Muslims against Prime Minister Modi. Meena alleged that big leaders of Congress are running an organised agenda on this issue.
In addition, he made serious allegations against Fazal ur Rahim, National General Secretary of Muslim Personal Law Board, saying that he has illegally occupied other territories including Mandir Mafi, Siway Chak in Jaipur and about 1400 bigha land allotted to the Police Department. Meena told that Fazal ur Rahim has worked to spread confusion in connivance with opposition leaders regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 introduced in Parliament. He also said that Rahim is engaged in anti-national activities and has formed an organised gang to oppose the Waqf Bill. Meena said that ED, CBI and SOG will be directed to investigate this matter and assured strict action against the culprits.
Meena said that despite the stay order of the Supreme Court, Fazal ur Rahim and his brother Zia ur Rahim along with some people occupied 900 bigha government land in Kishanpura, Amer and built 12 illegal colonies of people of a particular religion. At the same time, they occupied 500 bigha allotted to Rajasthan Police Department in Kishanpura and Amer. He said that Fazal ur Rahim’s daughter Sultana is the general secretary of Women Congress in Rajasthan Congress, son-in-law Mohammad Shoaib is a member of the State Congress Committee. During the rule of the previous Congress government, Fazal ur Rahim along with his daughter and son-in-law illegally occupied government land.
Meena accused the previous Congress government of failing to act on five cases, including illegal land occupation, filed against them at the Jaisinghpura Khor Police Station. He stated that the Congress government did not even register a report on these cases. Instead of pursuing the legal matters, the files were closed with a final report (FR).
