Gehlot’s Cabinet Meeting: Notable Resolutions Announced

A cabinet meeting of the state cabinet was held at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s residence on Sunday. In the meeting, several important decisions were approved, including the formation of the Rajasthan Logistic Service Delivery Corporation to protect the interests of contract workers, increasing promotion opportunities for employees, and approval of the Rajasthan Waqf Rules-2023 format. Among other crucial decisions, more than 80 social organizations were allocated land and government jobs for the victims of the Dariyawad incident. Contractual employees will receive allowances without deductions.
In Rajasthan, the practice of hiring contract workers in government departments through placement agencies will be discontinued. With the approval in the cabinet meeting, various government departments and institutions can now transparently register/select skilled/unskilled applicants. RLSDC will be registered under the Companies Act 2013.
It will be a company owned entirely by the state government. The head of the Administrative Reforms Department will be the Chairman of the Administration. Additionally, the Principal Secretary of the Personnel Department, the Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department, the Principal Secretary of the Labor Department, the Secretary of the Finance Expenditure Department, and individuals appointed by the state government will work as members.
Approval of Rajasthan Waqf Rules-2023 under Section 109 of the Central Waqf Act-1995
In the cabinet meeting, under Section 109 of the Central Waqf Act-1995, the cabinet approved the Rajasthan Waqf Rules-2023 proposals and notifications. With the implementation of these rules, waqf work can be managed with greater ease, clarity, and transparency.
Approval of Rajasthan Prosecution Subordinate Service (Amendment) Rules-2023
With this decision, candidates with the qualifications of new branches of engineering selected through direct recruitment by the university or director will be eligible for promotion to higher positions in the department.
Approval of Rajasthan Education (State and Subordinate) Service (Amendment) Rules-2023
There will be an improvement in the current educational landscape of Rajasthan. The process of filling positions will become smoother. The difficulties in promotion will end, and more opportunities will be available. Additionally, new qualifications will be included as per the current requirements for direct recruitment.
Approval of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Policy-2023
The cabinet approved the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Policy-2023 to promote renewable energy. With this policy, projects with a capacity of 90 gigawatts will be established in the state by 2030 through projects based on renewable energy. This will increase investment and employment opportunities in the state.
Formation of the Leather Craft Development Board
The Cabinet has decided to establish the Rajasthan Leather Craft Development Board, which will lead to increased income and improved living standards for individuals involved in the leather industry in the state. It will also create employment opportunities. This board will work for the overall development and skill enhancement of leather artisans and craftsmen in the state, promoting economic upliftment.
Government job for the victims of Dhariyawad
The Cabinet has taken a compassionate decision to provide a government job to the victim of Dhariyawad in Pratapgarh district. The victim will be appointed as a Class IV employee in a local government school of the Education Department. This will help the victim in her social rehabilitation.
Formation of Institutions under RII and MIC
The Rajasthan International Center (RIC) Jaipur and Marwar International Center Jodhpur (MIC) will be operated on the lines of the India International Center in New Delhi. The Cabinet has approved the proposal to establish Jaipur and Jodhpur Convention Center Management Institutions as autonomous bodies under the Societies Act for the management of RIC and MIC.
Renaming of Colleges and Schools
A decision has been taken in the meeting to rename four government colleges in Jaipur. The decision to rename colleges after Rao Gogadevji and Shaheed Roopaji Karpaji was taken. This decision honours the local sentiment and respect for the serpent deity Gogaji, and to honour the local sentiment for the martyr Roopaji Karpaji and the peasant movement.
Establishment of Rajasthan Prakrit Language and Literature Academy The Cabinet has approved the establishment of the Rajasthan Prakrit Language and Literature Academy and associated legislation and memorandum of association. This will help preserve Jain language literature and enrich the Prakrit language through the preparation of high-level texts, manuscripts, literature dictionaries, vocabulary, and more, which will provide information to the public and promote the development of the Prakrit language.
