In a ceremony marking the launch of the Indira Rasoi Yojana (Indira Kitchen Scheme) for rural areas, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced that the scheme would provide nutritious meals to labourers, students, and working people for just Rs. 8 at public, religious, commercial places, and slums in cities and towns. The Rajasthan government is committed to ensuring that no one sleeps hungry.
Gehlot stated that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sacrificed her life for the welfare of the nation, and despite facing opposition, her vision is now being realized with the expansion of the Indira Rasoi scheme into rural areas. Under this initiative, 400 rural Indira Rasois have been inaugurated throughout the state, with plans to increase this number to 1,000 by September 25. The state government is swiftly implementing budget announcements to provide relief to the public. Rajasthan’s schemes are serving as a basis for policy development in other states as well.
The Chief Minister mentioned that a roadmap is being prepared to ensure inclusive development in the state by 2030. The “Mission 2030” vision document is being prepared with the input of more than 5 million residents of the state, and he urged the public to provide further suggestions through various channels.
Gehlot highlighted that Rajasthan leads in various indicators, including education and healthcare, among North Indian states. The Chief Minister mentioned that Rajasthan has also shown remarkable economic growth over the past four years, with a GDP increase of 6 lakh crore rupees. The aim is to raise the state’s GDP to 30 lakh crore rupees by 2030.
In the context of democracy, CM Gehlot emphasized the importance of the impartial functioning of central investigative agencies like the CBI and ED. He called for the establishment of laws akin to the Right to Food, Right to Education, and Right to Employment at the national level. Gehlot also urged the central government to accord the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) the status of a national project to provide drinking water and irrigation facilities to 13 districts of the state.
During the program, various dignitaries, including Dr. C.P. Joshi, and Cabinet Ministers Dr. B.D. Kalla, Lalchand Kataria, Dr Mahesh Joshi, Ramesh Chand Meena, Bhajanlal Jatav, Govind Ram Meghwal, Shakuntala Rawat, Shale Mohammad, State Minister Murarilal Meena, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, former Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma, PCC President Govind Singh Dotasra, PCC In-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and others were present.
In his closing remarks, State Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa praised the dedication of Congress leaders and workers, calling them true patriots who have made sacrifices for the country. He emphasized that Congress does not fear investigative agencies like the CBI, Income Tax Department, or ED. The government is ready to face them and fight for justice.
