In anticipation of the consecration program of Ramlala in Ayodhya, Jaipur is gearing up for a spectacular celebration akin to Diwali. Special events for Ramotsav in Chhoti Kashi and Marudhara are also on the agenda. The city is set to glow with the radiance of 11 lakh lamps, giving it a festive Diwali ambience on 1st November.
The arrival of Shri Ram, after a wait of 500 years, will be marked with significant pomp and splendour.
To ensure the authenticity of the welcoming preparations, indigenous products are being used. In a departure from the use of Chinese-made lights and decorations, locally crafted items are being employed to convey the message of ‘Local for Vocal’ and inspire religious sentiments among the populace.
Jaipur Trade Board’s General Secretary, Suresh Saini, confirmed that the city would be adorned with 11 lakh lamps. These lamps, procured from potters in Kanota and Jaipur, include both traditional and electric variants. The Greater Municipal Corporation Mayor, Soumya Gurjar, has decided to illuminate the Greater area with five lakh lamps. Ramniwas Bagh, Ramganj, and MA Road will also witness the luminous display of one lakh lamps each.
The main event at Ramnivas Bagh will feature a replica of the Shri Ram Temple, creating a Diwali-like atmosphere. Four gates—Ram Dwar, Lakshman Dwar, Bharat Dwar, and Hanuman Dwar—will be erected, accompanied by Bhakti Marg and Shraddha Marg.
