In view of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) waved the national flag at 12,000 feet in Ladakh on Wednesday.

With a message of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ the troops also urged the citizen to hoist the flag from August 13 to 15 at their homes to mark the 75th year of Independence.

Earlier on July 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and urged people to strengthen the Har Ghar Tiranga movement. “This year, when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, let us strengthen the Har Ghar Tiranga Movement. Hoist the tricolor or display it in your homes between 13th and 15th August, This movement will deepen our connection with the national flag,” PM Modi said.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign comes under the Ministry of Culture. To invoke the feeling of patriotism in people’s hearts and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag this campaign was launched.

Meanwhile, to make this campaign successful the Nodal Agency and the Ministry of Culture will seek help from State Governments to mobilize all resources, housing, and urban development departments and local bodies including municipal bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions.

However, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.
