India’s space agency, ISRO, is making strides in enhancing its data dissemination capabilities with the Geoportal-Bhuvan, surpassing the information offerings of global giants like Google. According to ISRO Chief S Somanath, Bhuvan provides users with ten times more detailed information compared to Google. Highlighting recent advancements, Somanath emphasized the launch of two crucial tools: Bhuvan-Panchayat and NDEM.
Bhuvan, known for its comprehensive geospatial data, offers extensive insights and resources for users across various sectors. It stands out for its ability to provide detailed, localized information that supports decision-making processes in agriculture, urban planning, disaster management, and more. Bhuvan-Panchayat, one of the newly introduced tools, aims to empower local governance bodies by providing them with enhanced data sets and analytical tools.
