The Israel Defense Forces announced on Thursday that Israeli soldiers discovered a Hamas facility for producing explosives and aerial drones in a residential building near a school in Gaza’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. The explosives, along with operational plans, were found next to a children’s bedroom, the IDF added.
Earlier in the day, the military announced that after 10 hours of fighting, soldiers had captured a key Hamas outpost in the northern Gaza town of Jabaliya. The IDF also reported that “dozens” of terrorists from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad were slain by soldiers who were “above ground and on an underground route in the area.”
The IDF also stated that soldiers seized a large number of weapons as well as intelligence detailing “significant” Hamas battle plans.
Additionally, the IDF claimed that a tunnel shaft next to a kindergarten led to an “extensive underground route” that was discovered by the soldiers.
Israeli combat engineers have found and demolished 130 Hamas tunnels since the start of the ground invasion.
