Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed his Cabinet on Sunday about a significant reduction in US weapons deliveries for Israel’s Gaza war effort, a claim the Biden administration has denied. According to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), since October 7, the U.S. has enacted legislation providing at least $12.5 billion in military aid to Israel, which includes $3.8 billion from a bill in March 2024 (in line with the current MOU) and $8.7 billion from a supplemental appropriations act in April 2024.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu told his Cabinet that the decline in weapon supplies started four months ago, though he did not specify the types of weapons involved. He noted that while some items had arrived sporadically, the majority of munitions were delayed. This disagreement highlights the escalating tensions between Israel and the U.S. over the Gaza conflict, especially regarding the Israeli military’s actions in the area and the impact on civilian lives.

This comes as a video of Israeli troops strapping a wounded Palestinian man to the front of their vehicle has triggered backlash online. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that the incident took place during a raid in the West Bank city of Jenin after it was caught on camera and shared on social media. Notably, there have been multiple incidents of the IDF exploiting its powers in both the West Bank and Gaza since the war started on October 7 last year.
