Israel’s Ministry of Transportation, along with its National Emergency Authority and various infrastructure companies, conducted an extensive exercise to prepare for a multi-sector emergency scenario. This drill is part of Israel’s ongoing assessments in anticipation of a potential “all-out war,” particularly with the terrorist organization Hezbollah based in Lebanon.
The exercise simulated a high-intensity multi-arena conflict, focusing on the coordination and integration between various bodies and organizations to address significant events. Key areas of focus included the response of road infrastructure companies to prolonged power outages, maintaining the resilience of the supply chain, and ensuring the functional continuity of these companies.
The drill emphasized effective communication with the public and was led by Moshe Ben Zaken, Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety. Participants included representatives from the Ministry’s emergency and infrastructure departments, National Emergency Authority head Yoram Laredo, Natibi Israel Company chairman Yigal Amadi, CEO Nissim Peretz, representatives from other government ministries, CEOs of infrastructure companies, concessionaires, the IDF, and the Israel Police.
