Israel has significantly modified its initial military strategy for its conflict with Hamas, as reported by The Times of Israel. While the US is engaged in dialogue with Israel regarding the rising civilian casualties, a senior Biden administration official stated that they are asking essential questions to ensure clarity about Israel’s objectives.

The official emphasized that calling for a ceasefire after the October 7 incident by Hamas would not be the US’s preferred policy. Instead, the emphasis is on Israel feeling secure and preventing such incidents from recurring. The concept of a “pause” is being considered to allow safe civilian passage and increased aid flow into Gaza.

In terms of aid, the US is looking to ramp up assistance, with 100 trucks entering Gaza and plans for further increases.

On a different note, a Hamas official, Ali Baraka, made comments predicting the eventual decline of the United States, comparing it to the collapse of the USSR.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated his support for Israel, stating, “As long as the United States stands, Israel will not stand alone.”

While there have been calls for a ceasefire, President Joe Biden and his administration have not officially endorsed one at this time.
