A video of US Vice President Kamala Harris, following her recent defeat to Donald Trump in the presidential race, has sparked controversy online, with critics even labeling her a “functioning alcoholic.”
In the video, Harris addresses Democrat supporters, saying, “I know this is an uncertain time. I’m clear-eyed about that. I know you’re clear-eyed about it, and it feels heavy.” She urged supporters not to lose hope, adding, “Don’t you ever let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before November 5th, and you have the same ability to engage and inspire.” She also highlighted the Democrats’ achievement of raising $1.4 billion through grassroots efforts.
The video has drawn sharp criticism from Republicans and detractors, with some calling her remarks incoherent and questioning if she was under the influence. North Carolina Representative Virginia Foxx remarked, “The dial-up modem sound played on an infinite loop is more bearable than 28 seconds of whatever this is.” A Trump aide mocked the decision to release the video, stating, “I’d read a 5,000-word article on how this got approved for release.”

National Review columnist Dan McLaughlin had added, “No video like this would ever have been released by a politician who is not hated by her staff.” One user posted on social media: “Kamala Harris appears to be a functioning alcoholic who almost became President of America. Meanwhile, America is about to give another $24,000,000,000 to a barely functioning Cocaine Addict who’s in charge of Ukraine. Absolute clown world.”
