In the recent clash between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), MI’s skipper, Hardik Pandya, found himself on the receiving end of a fine due to a slow over-rate, marking MI’s second such infraction this season. Pandya incurred a hefty fine of Rs 24 lakhs, while his teammates faced penalties of Rs 6 lakhs or 25% of their match fees. Despite the fine, MI faced a tough battle on the field, eventually succumbing to a four-wicket defeat against LSG.

The match saw notable performances from Nehal Wadhera, Ishan Kishan, and Tim David for MI, with Mohsin Khan and Marcus Stoinis shining for LSG. Stoinis’ impressive 62-run innings, comprising seven fours and two sixes, proved decisive in steering LSG to victory. The win propelled LSG to the third spot in the IPL standings, with six wins and four losses, accumulating 12 points in total. This victory underscores LSG’s strong position in the tournament and serves as a testament to their competitive edge in the IPL.
