According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is gearing up to replace the iPhone 17 Plus with a sleeker alternative, the iPhone 17 Slim, possibly paving the way for their first foldable iPhone. The iPhone 17 Slim is anticipated to prioritize a slim design, achieved in part by reducing the use of titanium compared to the Pro models, while still ensuring a premium feel.

Notably, the iPhone 17 Slim will feature a single “wide camera” on the rear, departing from the dual or triple-camera setups of its counterparts. It will sport a 6.6-inch display with a resolution of approximately 2,740 x 1,260 pixels, powered by Appleā€™s A19 chip for enhanced performance and equipped with Apple’s proprietary 5G technology.

Apple reportedly plans to phase out the iPhone Plus mshort tagsodel, focusing instead on the iPhone 17, 17 Slim, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max variants. The iPhone 17 Slim is projected to be the most expensive among them, with an estimated price tag of $1,299. Kuo suggests this move aligns with market trends, as the Plus model currently constitutes a small portion of iPhone sales.

This strategic shift not only streamlines Apple’s lineup but also positions them to explore future innovations, potentially including a foldable iPhone. While Kuo’s track record with predictions is generally solid, details could evolve before the iPhone 17 series is officially unveiled, allowing room for adjustments and updates in Apple’s strategy.
