Customers who have purchased the iPhone 16 Pro, priced at Rs 1,19,900, are encountering issues with the device, specifically related to the touchscreen. Multiple reports have surfaced claiming that users are experiencing delays in touch response, with some taps on the screen not registering at all.
The problem seems to be affecting the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models, which feature the advanced 120Hz ProMotion display. One user on Reddit speculated that the slim bezels on these models might also be contributing to the touch sensitivity issues.
The concerns come soon after Apple rolled out the iOS 18 update for the new iPhone 16 series and other eligible devices. It is believed that the software update might be causing the display response issue. Apple is expected to address the problem in the upcoming iOS 18 patch or through a quick fix for affected devices.
While the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models are being manufactured in India, the iPhone 16 Pro models are still produced in China. Despite this, Apple has managed to cut the price of the iPhone 16 Pro series in India by Rs 15,000 compared to last year’s Pro version. This price reduction is likely due to the custom duty cuts announced during the Union Budget 2024.
Apple is making concerted efforts to reduce its dependence on China for iPhone manufacturing. India has emerged as a strong contender in this transition, as the country is already producing the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models. However, the premium Pro models continue to be sourced from China for the time being.
