The International Camel Festival is set to take place in Bikaner from January 12 to 14. Additionally, this year, along with the camel race, there will be an event featuring horse racing for the first time.
Bhagwati Prasad Kalal, the district collector of Bikaner, mentioned that the International Camel Festival would be held from January 12 to 14 this year. The festival will include the Bikaner Carnival, Heritage Walk, and programs based on classical forms of arts, along with a fusion show of local art and culture with contemporary art, a celebrity night, and the main attraction of fire dancing.
On the first day of the Camel Festival, the Bikaner Carnival will take place, organized from Laxmi Niwas Palace to Junagarh, showcasing colourful attire and cultural programs featuring the vibrant colours of Bikaner’s local art and culture.
The district collector stated that the Heritage Walk would be organised from Rampuriya Haveli to Mohata Chowk, passing through Saag Bazaar, Choodi Bazaar, Bhandashah Jain Temple, and ending at Bikaner’s Tekri. On January 13, the City Vibes program, featuring local art, culture, and a fusion show of contemporary art, will be held at Dharanidhar Stadium. A laughter show is also scheduled during this time.
On the same day, activities such as camel races, camel decoration, camel dance, and camel fur-cutting competitions will be organised at NRCC (National Research Centre on Camel).
On the second day of the Camel Festival, a Fashion Walk and Folk Night-Soils will be organised in the evening at Dr Karni Singh Stadium, where presentations of cultural performances by renowned artists will be showcased. The district collector also provided directives to ensure all arrangements were well-maintained during this period.
