Instagram has decided to roll back some recent changes to the app after receiving huge backlash from a lot of users including bigwigs.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, some of the new test features, which rolled out to some Instagram users over the past few weeks, included a full-screen feed that emphasized short-form videos on Reels and an increase in recommended posts from accounts that users are not following, which will be paused or decreased. There is no timeframe for when they will return to the platform.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter Meta spokesperson said, “Based on our findings and community feedback, we’re pausing the full-screen test on Instagram so we can explore other options, and we’re temporarily decreasing the number of recommendations you see in your feed so we can improve the quality of your experience.”

The spokesperson further added, “We recognize that changes to the app can be an adjustment, and while we believe that Instagram needs to evolve as the world changes, we want to take the time to make sure we get this right.”

Moreover, over these new features, several Instagram influencers raised their voice and complained that they are forced to upload reels. Bigwigs like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner also expressed disappointment and shared a petition to ‘Make Instagram Instagram Again’.
