At just 9 years old, this young girl from the outskirts of Sopore in north Kashmir has caused a storm on the internet with her remarkable cricket skills. Her shots resemble those of a professional batsman, impressively soaring through the air.

Hurmat Irshad Bhat received praise from Sachin Tendulkar after her video went viral on social media platforms.

Sharing her video on X, the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar captioned, “Always good to see young girls playing cricket. Watching videos like these brings a smile to my face.
[This rising star has already taken the internet by storm with her cricketing skills and now dreams of representing Team India.

In an interview with India News 7year-old Hurmat, who is a student at Prime Public School Zaingeer, said, “My grandfather used to take me to the ground where he would help me play cricket.”
She added, “I have been playing with the kids from my village for a long time now.”

Hurmat explained, “I have seen videos of Mithali Raj playing cricket for the Indian team, which really inspired me, and I want to play for Team India one day.”

Hurmat, the daughter of a driver, is being praised by netizens on all social media platforms after her video went viral.

Many people believe she should receive support and assistance in finding a good coach as her exceptional cricketing skills could certainly pave the way for her success in the field of women’s cricket.

Expressing their happiness, his father Irshad Ahmad, “She is playing great cricket at such a young age, and if she receives support, she can not only represent Kashmir but also Team India in the future. She can be an inspiration for thousands of girls, especially in the villages.”

They also appealed to the administration to help this kid make her dreams come true.

Pertinently, After the abrogation of Article 370, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a massive change in sports activities, particularly in the participation of girls.

The special attention given by the Central government to sporting activities, especially for girls, has been a significant motivating factor for women in Kashmir to excel in sports.

In the past, women in Kashmir struggled to be recognized for their contributions, despite their efforts. However, in recent years, women in the region have not only written their own success stories but have also inspired others to follow in their footsteps. His father said kashmir has lots of talent but all we need is basic facilities which a poor father cannot afford, government should come forward and provide facilities for such talented kids.

Several young women from North Kashmir have already made their parents and the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir proud through their successful careers and accomplishments. They represent a new generation of women who not only break stereotypes but also demonstrate that women are no longer dependent on men.

North Kashmir has produced star players such as Insha, a 27-year-old international wheelchair basketball player and the first one from Kashmir, Nahida Nabi, the first female wrestler from Kashmir, Ishrat Rasool, the first female cricketer, Tajamul Islam, Snobar Samader, Ronak Riyaz, and many more.
