Rajat Dalal, a 28-year-old powerlifter and social media influencer from Haryana, has found himself at the center of a major controversy after a video of him hitting a biker on a busy road in Faridabad went viral. The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, shows Dalal overspeeding at 140 km/h and recklessly changing lanes before knocking down a biker.
The Viral Video and Public Outrage
In the viral video, Dalal can be seen dismissing the severity of the accident, saying, “Gir gaya, koi baat nahi. Roz ka yahi kaam hai ma’am [He fell down, no big deal. This is an everyday thing, ma’am].” The video has since been shared widely on social media, with many calling for Dalal’s arrest and the revocation of his driving license.
The Faridabad police have taken note of the incident and launched an investigation, despite no formal complaint being lodged. The Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad stated, “This video has come to the notice of the district administration and Faridabad police. Although no complaint has been made to the police in this matter. But the police administration has taken cognizance of this incident on its own and started action. The investigation is going on. Strict action will be taken against the culprit.”
Rajat Dalal’s Response
In response to the backlash, Dalal posted a video from inside his car, claiming that the video is old and that he has moved on from such controversies. “A video is going viral where people are showing a lot of anger and frustration. On my part, I would just like to say that I don’t have any data, nor do I have my Instagram account at the moment. I don’t even know where that video came from or how it went viral. The video that’s circulating now is old. I am done with all these controversies, fights, and abuses. I am moving forward in life and focusing on a positive path,” Dalal said.
A History of Controversies
This incident is not Dalal’s first brush with controversy. In June 2024, he was arrested in Ahmedabad for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a teenager over a viral Instagram video. The incident began when the teenager, Dhyan Lodha, posted a video mocking Dalal. In response, Dalal reportedly tracked down Lodha, abducted him, and subjected him to a humiliating ordeal, including smearing cow dung on his face and physically assaulting him.
Earlier in March 2024, Dalal was involved in another controversy with fitness influencer Rajveer Singh Shisodia. The feud escalated after Dalal issued open threats against Shisodia in a video. The situation was on the verge of becoming a physical confrontation before the Haryana Police intervened, advising Shisodia against participating in the fight. Shisodia later accused Dalal of colluding with the police, suggesting that the situation was handled with bias.
