Winter décor is the wake-up call of spaces that are ready to give in and hibernate. While one part of the spatial character is obsessed over the season’s drowsy yet dreamy mood, the other part seeks a dose of energy and refreshment ready to lift our spirits. The colours of the season are gorich and warm, with an intense sense of comfort and indulgence. Vivid and subdued hues blend a balance—contrasting Pumpkin Orange and Cedar, akin Magenta and Rustic Rose, complementing Emerald green and Mustard etc. recall the summer vibe to forget the cold. Custom-designed abstracts, art mimics or stone textures in these colour palettes pair up with bold metallic tints to rekindle drama in the otherwise laid-back seasonal style.
It’s time to bid bye to the chills with warm upholstery—velvet, fur, suede and other extravagant fabrics with the in-vogue blind or channel tufts make way for colour-coordinated or design-coordinated pairs like seaters and poufs, recliners and coffee tables and more. Textile statements also come in humble patterns like checks, houndstooth, plaids and more to nullify the dense textures and flamboyant forms in carpets, throw pillows & blankets, table mats and other winterised details. These fabric variants add up to the artistically-biased drama in this season’s trend.
The seeking for warmth and drama is bridged by nostalgic furniture—maximal and flavoursome with curved or twisted forms, voluptuous profiles, subtly ornamented planks and densely texturised seats. In the overall interior scene, there is an open invitation to distressed wood frames, antiquated figurines, candle-lit corners, centralised fireplaces and every other rouse of thermal comfort. Escorting these as summer memories are the artisanal flower vases, handpicked ceramic tableware, fresh planters and more. The winter picture is complete where there is an abundance of warmth, a tinge of drama and an unparalleled lookout for the season’s statement.
