Amidst the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup, the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will pick India’s T20I Squad for the Zimbabwe series, which will begin in the first week of July.

Rumour has it, that the squad will consists of relatively new players, as the senior players will be rested after the conclusion of T20 World cup.

As per CricketNext, BCCI has already taken the passports of some players, who will be going to Zimbabwe for T20 series.

According to latest reports, Shubhman Gill is likely to be captain of the India’s squad. Gill was one of the players, who was released from the squad along with Avesh Khan, during the league stages of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the selection committee has recently checked with Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav and both of them, has declined to be a part of Zimbabwe series.

Coming to the squad, sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Tushar Deshpande, Harshit Rana are likely to be part of Zimbabwe series.

Even those players who are benched this T20 world cup like Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh are most likely to be part of the squad.
