India’s tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 1,08,38,194, with 11,831 new infections being reported in a day, while the daily death count fell below 100 for the fourth time this month, on Monday. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,05,34,505, pushing the national Covid-19 recovery rate of 97.20 percent, while the Covid-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.43 percent. The Covid-19 active caseload remained below 2 lakh. There are 1,48,609 active coronavirus infections in the country which comprises 1.37 percent of the infection count.
Delhi reported a total of 119 new Covid-19 infections and 179 discharges in the last 24 hours. The corresponding period also witnessed the death of 2 persons infected with the disease.
Maharashtra recorded 2,216 new coronavirus cases on Monday, which took its infection tally to 20,46,287, while 15 deaths pushed the toll to 51,325. A total of 3,423 patients were discharged during the day, which improved the recovery count to 19,58,971. There are 34,720 active cases in the state at present.
Haryana recorded 76 more coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the tally to 2.69 lakh on Monday, while there was no new fatality due to the virus. There are 870 active cases, while 2.65 lakh people have recuperated, taking the recovery rate to 98.55 percent.
Goa on Monday reported 57 new Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 53,937. With no new Covid-19 death reported during the day, the overall toll so far stood at 772.
Rajasthan’s Covid-19 death toll rose to 2,774 on Monday after two more people succumbed to the infection, while 101 fresh cases pushed the virus tally to 3,18,294. At present, there are 1,470 active cases in the state.
Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu were 464 fresh infections while the active cases stood at 4,354. The new patients, as well as the active cases, were lesser than those on Sunday.
Andhra Pradesh reported 62 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to over 8.88 lakh on Monday. The state also reported 102 more recoveries in 24 hours and one death. One more person has tested positive for Covid-19 in Mizoram, taking the tally in the north-eastern state to 4,383, on Monday.
