New Delhi: India has recorded a total of 96,44,222 confirmed cases of Covid-19 so far, including 140,182 deaths. There are still 4,03,248 active cases in the country as of date, which comprises 4.03 percent of the total caseload. Meanwhile, 91,00,792 people have recuperated from the infection in the country and the recovery rate continues to rise, now standing at 94.37 percent. A total of 11,01,063 tests were conducted nationwide in the previous day.

Delhi reported 2,706 new Covid-19 cases, including 4,622 recoveries and 69 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total cases in the city stands at 5,92,250 with 24,693 active cases at the moment. Recoveries hiked up to 5,57,914, while the death count so far is 9,643.

Covid-19 deaths in Maharashtra dropped below 100 while fresh cases for the day stood at 4,922. The state also reported 95 deaths, taking the tally to 47,694. The overall count of cases in the state is now 18.47 lakhs.

Kerala›s Covid-19 recoveries on December 6 crossed 5.72 lakhs as 5,217 people recuperated from the disease. However, 4,777 new cases were reported, Health Minister K.K. Shailaja said. The total virus caseload mounted to 6,36,392 and 60,924 are presently under treatment.

Active coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh dropped below the 6,000 mark to 5,910 on Sunday even as 667 new ones were added, taking the gross to 8.71 lakhs. In the last 24 hours, 914 patients also recovered in the state while nine others succumbed to the virus.

Gujarat reported a total of 7,553 new cases of Covid-19 and 75 deaths. Of these, Ahmedabad accounted for 1,647 cases and 49 deaths, accounting for 65% of the state’s total deaths due to the virus.
