New Delhi: India detected 32,981 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s overall tally to 96,77,203. Out of the total cases, active cases further dropped to 3.96 lakh, a level last seen in the third week of July.
Over 91.39 lakh people have recovered with over 39,000 recoveries in the last 24 hours. With 391 new fatalities, the country’s death toll mounted to 1,40,573. The number of single-day fatalities has fallen below 400 for the first time since July.
Delhi recorded 1,674 new coronavirus cases in a day while the positivity rate slipped to 3.15% on Monday. Sixty-three more fatalities were recorded in a day, pushing the death toll in the national capital to 9,706 while the positivity rate dropped to 3.15%. The tally of active cases on Monday dropped to 22,486 from 24,693 the previous day. The total number of cases climbed to 5,93,924.
Maharashtra reported 3,075 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 18,55,341. Forty more fatalities pushed the death toll to 47,774.
Rajasthan recorded 19 more coronavirus-related fatalities, taking the death toll to 2,448 while 1,927 new cases pushed the infection tally to 2,82,512. At present, there are 21,671 active cases in the state while 2,58,393 people have recovered from the disease so far.
Punjab reported 620 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours including 886 discharges, and 19 deaths, as per Punjab government. Total cases in the state rose to 1,56,839 including 1,44,301 recoveries, and 4,934 deaths. Active cases stand at 7,604.
Tamil Nadu reported 1,312 fresh coronavirus cases including 1,389 discharges, and 16 deaths. Total cases in the state rose to 7,91,552. Total discharges in the state are 7,69,048 while the death toll rose to 11,809. Active cases stand at 10,695.
Kerala reported 3,272 new Covid-19 cases including 4,705 recoveries. The total numbers of active cases and recovered cases in the state stand at 59,467 and 5,77,616 respectivel
