A 20-year-old Indian student was discovered deceased in the United States, with his family alleging foul play.
Abhijeeth Paruchuru, originally from Burripalem in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district, was studying engineering at Boston University, while his parents, Paruchuri Chakradhar and Srilakshmi Boruna, were residing in Connecticut, according to officials on Monday.
His family alleges that he was potentially murdered by unidentified individuals on the university campus on March 11 and his body was abandoned in a car within a forest.
Authorities were able to identify his remains by tracking his cell phone signals after receiving a report from his acquaintances.
However, the Consulate General of India in New York stated that initial investigations have ruled out any suspicions.
“Paruchuru’s parents are in direct coordination with detectives. Initial inquiries have dismissed the possibility of foul play,” the consulate mentioned in a post on X.
