Vaibhav Gupta bagged the Indian Idol 14 title. The season’s winner hails from Kanpur, UP. Along with the title, he took home Rs 25 Lakh and a Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The other finalists were Ananya Pal, Sanjana Padmanabhan, Piyush Panwar, Adya Mishra and Subhadeep Das.
Vaibhav shared his future endeavours as he wishes to do playback singing for Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal. He said, “I will try my best that this happens someday. I want to bring back live music, the symphony kinds. The 90s feel is now coming back. People are listening to Kishore Da again, and this generation is focusing more on the melody. It is a very good era of music, and I want to present a new wave in it.”
Sonu Nigam was the special guest in the grand finale. The other judges include Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Kumar Sanu. The season’s host was Hussain Kuwajerwala. Season 14 began in October last year.
Vaibhav with his phenomenal singing impressed everyone during his time at the show. He garnered praise from all over India. The first runner-up Shubhadewp Das Chowdhury was awarded a trophy and Rs 5 Lakh.
