The Indian Navy is participating in the celebrations with a unique twist, as seen in Lakshadweep, where the Coast Guard hoisted the national flag underwater. This initiative is part of a series of similar events being organized by the Navy across different regions.
In Lakshadweep, the district headquarters of the Indian Coast Guard marked the 78th Independence Day by raising the tricolor underwater. This event was conducted under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, symbolizing national pride and unity.

The Indian Coast Guard, as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, is hosting a variety of events. For example, the Gandhinagar Regional Headquarters (Northwest) organized a Walkathon to commemorate the occasion.
Additionally, Indian Navy units in Kochi and Beypore took part in community outreach efforts by visiting orphanages and engaging with local fishermen. During these interactions, they distributed flags and shared important information about sea safety. The Indian Naval Air Enclave in Kochi also joined the celebration by lighting up its walls with the tricolor.
The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, initiated by the central government, aims to make the 78th Independence Day especially memorable. The campaign’s objective is to inspire widespread hoisting of the tricolor in homes across the country, thereby nurturing a strong sense of patriotism.
