In a commendable effort to inspire and empower women across the nation, the Indian Army has undertaken a series of initiatives aimed at motivating girls and women. Continuing this commitment, the Army organized a special lecture on the subject of ‘Women Empowerment’ in Patnazi, Shergwari, Kishtwar, and Gahan, coinciding with National Women’s Day celebrations.
The lecture, attended by 293 enthusiastic women, aimed to educate and raise awareness about various women empowerment schemes implemented in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Emphasizing the significance of gender equality and recognizing the invaluable contributions of Indian women towards national development, the session delved into key government initiatives such as Mahila E-Haat, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, one-stop centre scheme, working women hostels, support to training and employment programme for Women (STEP), and Nari Shakti Purushkars.
Participants lauded the efforts of the Indian Army in promoting education and entrepreneurship among women. The students and staff of schools expressed their appreciation for being enlightened about these important schemes, thanking the Army for its valuable initiative.
