A controversy has emerged in the digital content space as YouTube removed a video featuring YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, following a takedown request from the National Human Rights Commission, according to media reports.

The video, which was part of stand-up comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, has faced severe criticism for containing allegedly vulgar remarks.

As per reports, both the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the IT Ministry have decided to take strict action under IT regulations to prevent content that may offend public sensibilities.

This move highlights the growing regulatory scrutiny on objectionable digital content, with authorities considering action not just against the performers but also against the show’s producers and YouTube as the hosting platform.

Additionally, a legal case has been filed against Ranveer Allahbadia along with four others—stand-up comedian Samay Raina, YouTube creator Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija. The complaint, submitted by a Guwahati resident, alleges that the group promoted obscenity through their online show, particularly with remarks related to parents and sex.

In light of the backlash, Allahbadia has since issued an apology for the comments made during the show.
