Google Cloud has appointed Karthik Narain as its new Chief Product and Business Officer, marking another major step in the company’s effort to expand its influence in artificial intelligence (AI) and enterprise technology.
The announcement was made by Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, through a post on LinkedIn. The move underscores Google’s focus on developing next-generation cloud and AI solutions for businesses worldwide.

In his post, Thomas Kurian said the appointment of Karthik Narain will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s AI-driven future.
Kurian wrote, “Today, we welcome Karthik Narain to Google Cloud as Chief Product & Business Officer. He will lead product and engineering teams across cloud, developer, data, and Applied AI, the go-to-market organization, and work closely with Google Public Sector. Kurian also highlighted that Narain’s appointment comes at a time when Google Cloud is expanding its footprint among enterprise clients adopting AI-based solutions.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai also extended his congratulations to Narain, acknowledging his leadership and the key role he will play in the company’s growth.

Who Is Karthik Narain?
Before joining Google, Karthik Narain worked with Accenture as its Chief Technology Officer. He also served as Group Executive – Technology at the company. Earlier in his career, he worked at HCLTech, where he led major technology verticals such as High Tech, Software & Platforms, and Automotive between 2005 and 2015.
Narain holds a Master’s degree in Computer Systems and Business from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.
With his vast experience in enterprise technology and consulting, Narain’s addition to Google Cloud is expected to further strengthen the company’s AI and cloud business strategy.
