Indian security agencies have achieved a major breakthrough by capturing two of the country’s most wanted gangsters, Venkatesh Garg and Bhanu Rana, who had been operating from foreign countries. According to officials, Garg was arrested in Georgia in a joint operation involving the Haryana Police, while Rana was nabbed in the United States (US). Both are expected to be deported to India soon.

India’s Global Hunt for Gangsters Venkatesh Garg & Bhanu Rana

Currently, Indian authorities are tracking over two dozen major gangsters who are running criminal syndicates from abroad. These individuals often recruit local youth to carry out extortion, targeted killings, and other crimes in India while maintaining control through encrypted communication apps.

Who is Most Wanted Venkatesh Garg?

Venkatesh Garg, a native of Narayangarh in Haryana, has been facing more than 10 criminal cases across India. After being implicated in the murder of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader in Gurugram, Garg fled to Georgia to evade arrest.

Investigations have revealed that Garg was recruiting young men from Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and nearby states to strengthen his gang. He was also running an extortion syndicate in partnership with Kapil Sangwan, another India-born gangster now living overseas.

In October, the Delhi Police arrested four shooters associated with Sangwan who had been involved in firing at the residence and farmhouse of a builder, reportedly under Garg’s direction. This operation has helped Indian investigators trace several international links in their network.

Who is Most Wanted Bhanu Rana’s Ties to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang?

Meanwhile, Bhanu Rana, a long-time criminal from Karnal, Haryana, has been linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, one of India’s most dangerous crime networks. Rana had been living in the United States for several years, continuing to run operations from there.

Rana’s criminal network spans across Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi, and he faces multiple serious charges in India. His name came up during the probe into a grenade attack case in Punjab, which pointed to his deep involvement in organized crime.

Earlier in June, the Special Task Force (STF) in Karnal arrested two men in possession of hand grenades, pistols, and live ammunition. During interrogation, the duo confessed that they were working under the instructions of Bhanu Rana.

Broader Crackdown on Overseas Gang Networks

The arrests of Garg and Rana mark a significant step in India’s crackdown on transnational crime syndicates. Security agencies believe the two played crucial roles in coordinating with overseas handlers and funding criminal operations inside India.

Both gangsters will soon be extradited and face trial under multiple charges, including murder, extortion, and criminal conspiracy. Officials also hinted that these arrests could lead to more international operations targeting absconding gangsters currently hiding in countries like Canada, the UK, and the Middle East.
