Good news is coming for daily commuters in the National Capital Region (NCR). The proposed Namo Bharat rapid rail corridor will directly connect Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. The line is being planned as a high-speed alternative to the crowded road routes in the region.
Officials confirmed that the geotechnical survey for the corridor has been completed. This survey checks soil and terrain conditions and marks the first big step before construction begins.
Namo Bharat Rapid Rail: Route Plan
The rapid rail line will cover nearly 65 kilometres. It will start at IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram and pass through Faridabad before reaching Noida and Greater Noida. The corridor will also connect with the upcoming Ghaziabad–Jewar Airport Namo Bharat route.
As of now, six stations are in the plan. These include:
- Sector 54 Golf Course Road (Gurugram)
- Bata Chowk (Faridabad)
- Sectors 85–86 (Faridabad)
- Sector 142–168 (Noida)
- Surajpur
- Greater Noida

Namo Bharat Rapid Rail: Faster & Smarter Travel Across NCR
The Namo Bharat trains are designed to run at speeds of up to 180 km per hour. In order to ensure prompt and consistent service, trains will come every five to seven minutes.
Driving from Greater Noida to Gurugram during rush hour would now take roughly 60 minutes as opposed to the current 2 to 2.5 hours.
Next Steps in the Project
With the survey work completed, the next stage is the Detailed Project Report (DPR). This report will cover design, cost, and construction details. Officials expect it to be ready in the next three months.

Once completed, the DPR will be sent to the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana for approval. According to reports, the project may cost around ₹15,000 crore.
Broader Push for Namo Bharat Corridors
This corridor is part of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) network, being developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). All corridors will run under the Namo Bharat brand.
The Ghaziabad–Meerut Namo Bharat line has already begun operations and received positive feedback. Authorities expect the new Gurugram–Noida link to see similar success.

NCR’s Smart City Growth
Urban experts say the corridor will not just cut travel times but also boost real estate and job opportunities along the route. Once thought to be remote, places like Greater Noida and Faridabad could develop into important residential and business centres.
The demand for homes and businesses near the proposed stations is expected to spike once construction begins, according to real estate developers.
