Police reported on Wednesday that two people were shot dead after a dispute in the Baruipur neighbourhood of West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district.

Sajjat The two deceased have been identified as Mondal, 48, and Sarfuddin Laskar, 32, both residents of Baruipur, according to officials. The incident was reported on Tuesday afternoon. In relation to the event, they reported that one person had been detained.

In the vicinity of the Gaurdah Paka Pole region, the victims Sajjat, Sarfuddin, Abdul Hamid Modal, and three or four others assembled.

Abdul and the two victims, Sajjat and Sarfuddin, got into a fight while they were all drinking.

It quickly became violent, and Abdul, in a fit of rage, pulled a gun and shot Sajjat and Sarfuddin, injuring both of them, according to the police.

They were both brought to Baruipur SD Hospital, where medical staff pronounced them dead.

Officials stated that a case has been filed, an investigation are underway. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.
