The Calcutta HC restricts WB Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee to not make any defamatory or incorrect remark against state’s governor CV Ananda Bose.

Earlier on June 28, governor had lodged a defamatory case against CM at Calcutta HC, when Mamata bannerjee alleged, that women are scared to go to Raj Bhavan.

Quoting PTI she said ‘they are afraid to visit Raj Bhavan due to recent incidents reported there.’

On Monday, WB’s chief minister still asserted her statement in the high court. Meanwhile the governor’s lawyer demanded restrain for CM, Two MLAs and another TMC from giving any comments with regard to this incident.

While Bannerjee’s counsel on the other hand asserted, that she has just kept the concerns of women over some activities in Raj bhavan.

In addition, Bannerjee’s lawyer also declared, that he’ll give the names women, who have expressed such concerns.

In the hearing, Bannerjee’s lawyer also claimed, that the plea isn’t maintainable. Furthermore, he also asserted, that Justice Rao doesn’t entertain any jurisdiction to listen the matter.

Meanwhile, on July 4, the woman approached the supreme court over Article 361 of the constitution (giving immunity to governor from criminal proceeding during his/her term).

As per ANI, she reportedly asked the court to think, whether sexual harassment or molestation come under the purview of duties executed by the governor.

What Exactly Happened?

Earlier on May 2, a contractual woman employee who worked at governor’s home had accused Bose of molestation. As a result, Kolkata Police later launched an investigation.
