On Friday, October 3, 2025, India presents a picture of stark weather contrasts. While northern and southern metros like Delhi and Chennai wake up to mist and cloudy skies, the eastern and northeastern parts of the country are on high alert. The Indian Meteorological Department has cautioned that isolated regions in eastern states could face heavy to very heavy showers, raising the likelihood of severe disruptions.

Regional Breakdown: From Sultry Plains to Rain-Drenched Coasts

The nation's weather can be broadly divided into four regional patterns today.

North India: The capital, Delhi, can expect a generally cloudy day with a possibility of very light rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. Temperatures will hover between a maximum of 34°C and a minimum of 28°C. There will be easterly winds in Lucknow, indicating a change in the weather patterns.

West India: Cities including Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad are facing humidity levels above 74%, with Ahmedabad additionally reporting misty weather—conditions that reflect the warm, sticky nature of the post-monsoon season.

East India: At 94% humidity, Kolkata is in for patchy light rain, though the IMD highlights East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh as the zones likely to experience the most intense showers.

South India: Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad are under partly cloudy skies with occasional mist. Temperatures are mild—Bengaluru at 21°C, though humidity stays elevated.
