Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu condemned the ragging incident on Monday where a student was grievously hurt at Dibrugarh University.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Pegu asked Dibrugarh University authority and police to take strong action against the accused.
“We will not tolerate such activities. I am also asking university authorities to be vigilant and take prompt action whenever any attempt of ragging is reported. Ex-students should not be allowed to stay in hostels,” Assam Education Minister Pegu said.
Moreover, three accused have been apprehended for allegedly ragging juniors at Dibrugarh University.
“We have apprehended three persons so far. We have registered a case and our investigation is on,” Shwetabk Mishra, Superintendent of Police of Dibrugarh district said.

CM Sarma further said, “Appeal to students, say NO to Ragging.”
However, after getting fed up with ragging by his seniors for the past few days a student of Dibrugarh University jumped from the second floor of a hostel building.
