In a warm reception for Spanish President Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his pleasure at hosting Sanchez during the festive season of Deepawali. During their meeting, Modi recalled that this was Sanchez’s first visit to India, noting, “We all missed you at the G20 Summit in New Delhi last year.”
Modi reflected on his personal connection to Vadodara, the city where he was first elected as a Member of Parliament and later became Prime Minister. “Gujarat is considered the land of festivals and celebrations. Deepawali symbolizes light, enthusiasm, joy, energy, and new beginnings,” he stated, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
He added, “Similarly, your visit has infused new energy and enthusiasm in our relations,” highlighting the importance of fostering strong ties between India and Spain.
