Later, talking about the fast, Atishi said, ‘Mahatma Gandhi has taught that if one has to fight against injustice, one must adopt the path of Satyagraha.’

This development comes around the time, when Atishi has recently written a letter to PM Narendra Modi, to resolve water crisis plaguing Delhi.

Talking to the media, she announced, that around 28 lakh people are dealing with water shortage and accused neighboring state Haryana for not releasing the needed water.

‘Yesterday, Haryana released 513 MGD (million gallons per day) of water to Delhi as against 613 MGD. One MGD of water is for 28,500 people. This means that water was not released for over 28 lakh people’ said Atishi.

On Wednesday, Atishi announced, that if Delhi doesn’t get its rightful share of water by June 21, she will be pushed to adopt the path of Satyagraha.
