In a shocking incident that has gone viral on social media, three traffic policemen in Delhi were caught on CCTV accepting and dividing bribe money. The footage, recorded on Saturday at a police checkpost in Gazipur, Thrill Lauri Circle, shows the officers engaging in corrupt practices, leading to their immediate suspension.
The video begins with one of the policemen arguing with a man inside the checkpost. After a brief conversation, the policeman signals the man, who then places a bundle of money on a table behind the officer. The policeman keeps watch as the transaction occurs.
Once the man exits, the officer sits down and starts counting the bribe money. The footage then cuts to a scene where the three policemen are seated together, with the first officer dividing the bribe money among them. The other two officers are seen smiling as they receive their share.
The video quickly gained attention on social media, prompting Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to respond. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Saxena confirmed that the three policemen involved—two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) and one Head Constable—had been suspended.
“Taking cognizance of this post, after preliminary investigation, the above 3 policemen have been suspended and a comprehensive departmental inquiry is being conducted against them,” Saxena said.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about corruption within the police force. The Delhi Police Department has assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents in the future.
