Designers Falguni Shane Peacock marked their two-decade milestone with a spectacular finale at Hyundai India Couture Week 2024, unveiling their latest collection, “Rang Mahal.”
The event, attended by Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, was highlighted by their striking appearances. Rashmika initiated the show wearing a dazzling white lehenga embellished with sequins and pearls, while Vicky complemented her attire in an elegant ivory and gold bandhgala.
The “Rang Mahal” collection, developed in collaboration with Swadesh, pays tribute to India’s rich textile tradition and artisanal expertise. The presentation showcased a blend of Tanishq’s exquisite jewelry and Falguni Shane Peacock’s modern designs, creating a seamless fusion of contemporary style and traditional craftsmanship. This collaboration emphasized the exceptional talent and artistry of Indian weavers, showcasing their work prominently.
In their debut exploration of Indian weaves and textiles, Falguni Shane Peacock teamed up with Swadesh to produce a distinctive capsule collection featuring opulent sarees and lehengas. The collection includes luxurious Kanjivaram silks interwoven with real gold and silver zari threads and embellished with the FSP monogram on the saree and dupatta borders. It also highlights Banarasi brocade lehengas and Chikankari, masterfully integrated with the designer’s signature elements. Each item exemplifies the extraordinary skill of indigenous weavers, presenting a unique display of craftsmanship.
The grand finale also featured Tanishq’s “Best of Diamonds” and the newly introduced “Enchanted Trails” collection, offering a stunning array of rare diamond pieces that redefine sophistication and elegance. Inspired by the delicate beauty of nature, this collection incorporates motifs reflecting flowing rivers, light and water interplay, blooming flowers, graceful branches, and lush foliage, capturing the serene poetry of nature’s calmness.
Tanishq further impressed with the “Ethereal Wonders” collection, presenting rare stones like aquamarine, tanzanite, pastel tourmalines, rare citrines, and statement pieces with emeralds and sapphires. This rare collection underscored the brand’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.
The “Exotic India” collection by Tanishq celebrated Indian heritage with intricate Vilandi Jadau designs from Bikaner, Victorian Polki necklaces with uncut Polkis, and regal Rajwada Kundan necklaces. It featured traditional artistry combined with modern elegance, including Chikankari, Picchwai work, opulent Zardosi, and dazzling Polkis. The vibrant Meenakari art and captivating inlay work, including Chalcedony centerpieces, added a splash of color, reflecting timeless elegance and contemporary charm.
“Rang Mahal” by Falguni Shane Peacock draws inspiration from India’s royal splendor and rich history. The haute couture collection, translating to “Palace of Colors,” celebrates fifty iconic elements of India’s heritage, such as grand palaces, lavish lifestyles, and intricate craftsmanship. The use of luxurious silks, rich velvets, and detailed embroideries evokes the grandeur of royal courts. Each piece honors the timeless elegance and sophistication of India’s regal past, crafted by master artisans who uphold their ancestral legacy.
