New Delhi — C. P. Radhakrishnan on March 19 inaugurated a new academic building at Modern School, Vasant Vihar, marking a key milestone in the institution’s Golden Jubilee year.

The school, part of the 106-year-old Modern School Society and widely regarded as one of the capital’s leading educational institutions, said the new facility represents a significant expansion of its academic infrastructure. The addition is expected to enable the school to accommodate around 500 more students, enhancing its capacity to deliver high-quality, future-ready education.

According to officials, the building includes modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces and a multipurpose hall designed to support both academic and sporting activities. Constructed in the institution’s signature red-brick architectural style, the structure integrates elements of sustainability, including energy-efficient systems and environmentally conscious design features aimed at reducing its ecological footprint.

President of the Board of Trustees Mira Pradeep Singh and Chairman Sanjay Kishan Kaul welcomed the Vice President and described the inauguration as a landmark moment in the school’s history.

Secretary of the Board of Trustees Ambika Pant said the new building reflects both the institution’s legacy and its forward-looking vision, while acknowledging the collective effort behind the project’s completion.

Principal Vibha Khosla said the expanded infrastructure will allow more students to benefit from the school’s academic environment, reinforcing its emphasis on holistic and values-based education.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by members of the school management, faculty, alumni, parents and other distinguished guests, underscoring the significance of the occasion for the Modern School Society community.
